This is why America is ticked off. This and hundreds, if not thousands of other examples of wasted taxpayer money.

First, they take from us. Steal it from our paychecks. Then they BLOW IT!!

Pelosi and crew blew loads of money on their trip to the Climate Summit in Copenhagen. Why did they need such a huge delegation? Didn’t Obama and Michelle go as well, on different jets?

Excerpt below from the story at Personal Liberty Digest:
Pelosi, Congressional Delegation Take Heat For $1 Million Climate Summit Trip

Although the climate summit in Copenhagen took place in December, it has recently emerged that the large congressional delegation headed by Nancy Pelosi charged taxpayers some $1 million for the trip.

Newly filed congressional expense reports indicated that more than 150 people—including legislators, staff and even some family members—made the trip at a cost of $2,200 a day, CBS News reported.

Further CBS investigation found that 59 House and Senate staff flew commercial to the Danish capital, costing taxpayers $408,064, while the rest used three military jets, which cost $168,351 for the flight time.

This type of spending in the face of an escalating federal deficit and during a prolonged recession has spurred critics to question the judgment of the congressional leadership.

Mother Teresa is scheduled to be honored with a U.S. postal stamp later this year. And naturally, someone has decided to protest the honor. The organization, Freedom from Religion Foundation, argues that postal regulations prohibit honors for “individuals whose principal achievements are associated with religious undertakings.” I have problems with this story.

First, other religious leaders have had stamps. The Rev. Martin Luther King a Baptist pastor, has a stamp. Malcolm X, an active member of the black Muslim faith had a stamp, and there were others. I do not know what Freedom from Religion Foundation had to say about those, but I do not recall any significant protest about them.

Second, Mother Teresa devoted her life to helping the poor people of India. She worked to help all who came her way without regard to their religious faith. Her work may have been in response to the teachings of the Catholic church, but her assistance was given to people of all faiths.

Now, I am fascinated by people who make such a big deal out of not believing in a God. Why are they so driven to punish those of us who are convinced of his existence? What if they are right? What if there is no God and no afterlife? What if we are the results of a stray cosmic ray rearranging the DNA of an ancient amoeba? If they are right, then we are created by the mixing of genetic material from our parents, we live our lives and simply cease to exits when we die. If so, what difference does it make if we believe or not believe. The results would be the same.

We cannot determine by our senses if God exist or not. If he exist, then the universe is filled uniformly with his presence. There would be no differentiation that we could detect. If he does not exist, then the universe is uniformly empty of any spiritual presence. Again, we have no way to determine if that is true. Believing in God is an act of faith. But non belief is also an act of faith. Therefore, atheism is just as much a religion as any other belief system based on faith.

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1)

Now back to my question: Why do they make such an effort to attack religious belief? I think they are convinced that they are superior to the rest of us, that they are convinced that they have a right and a responsibility to force their opinions and beliefs on the nation without regard to the opinions of the masses. I think their attacks on people of faith are the results of their desire to have power over the inferior masses, and as long as we see God as the primary power in our lives, they get shut out.

I never try to impose my religious opinions on other people, and I resent those who try to impose their opinions on me. If they are right, it does not matter. If I am right, they have a problem.

The political chess game is starting to take shape in Georgia. An interesting article concerning a phone conversation between Georgia State Insurance Commissioner John Oxedine, and US Congressman Lynn Westmoreland, was published in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution last night stating that Westmoreland said “it smells funny”

By Cameron McWhirter and Jim Galloway

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland said Monday that he believes Insurance Commissioner John Oxendine used an investigation into a failed insurance company in an attempt to pressure him to take a low profile in the governor’s race.

Westmoreland said Oxendine, a Republican candidate for governor, called him about an investigation into Southeastern U.S. Insurance, where Westmoreland served on an advisory board in 2003 and 2004. He said Oxendine told him that his name was found in company documents.

Westmoreland said Oxendine never said anything explicit, but the congressman said he felt a message was being sent. He said Oxendine said to him repeatedly that he would try to keep his name from becoming public as a favor.

Oxendine denied trying to pressure Westmoreland. He said politics had nothing to do with the call.

“Normally I would have had a staff person call him,” Oxendine said. “But since the guy is a sitting congressman, I thought it would be a little demeaning to have a staff person call him.”

Westmoreland is supporting Rep. Nathan Deal for governor. He said the call felt like a “shakedown.”

“I think he thought he was going to worry me,” Westmoreland said. “It smells funny.”

Oxendine said Monday that investigators had found documents that included Westmoreland’s name.

At the time of the call, the investigation was a civil matter, but beginning in January, the Insurance Commission launched a criminal investigation.

The private tension between the two exploded publicly after Oxendine told a reporter that Westmoreland was part of the investigation. The reporter then contacted Westmoreland’s office.

Oxendine said the reporter asked him last week to confirm Westmoreland was on the advisory board. “We didn’t want to lie,” he said.

“If anyone is trying to Monday make politics out of this, it’s not me, it’s the congressman,” Oxendine said.

The showdown between two of the state’s leading conservative politicians stems from the dissolution and takeover of Southeastern U.S. Insurance, an Atlanta-based workmen’s compensation insurer headed by M. Clark Fain. The ex-CEO had close ties to state Republicans and was a major contributor to several GOP candidates, including Westmoreland and Oxendine.

We now know that all the data used to proclaim a world wide climate crisis was manipulated to yield the result the advocates wanted. The millions of dollars that have been spent and the billions that have been budgeted or proposed are all based on a lie.

Why? It was designed to gain massive financial, social and political gains for the proponents of climate change at the expense of we the people who were expected to sacrifice our own financial, social and political freedoms to satisfy their ambitions.

So, how many of the other “emergencies” fall into the same category. Has our nation’s health been misjudged for the sole purpose of turning over a major part of our economy to the politicians and bureaucrats in Washington? Are all those appeals for donations to one desperate cause or another real, or are they based on false or non existent data?

Would all these financial institutions that were “too big to allow to fail” have done as much damage as the massive spending deficits being run up by our government? Would General Motors and Chrysler have survived after a normal bankruptcy without the billions of federal dollars they collected from our pockets?

I believe that in every case above, and many others, government intervention did far more damage than good. If we could just get government out of the way and allow the market place work as it should, most of these so called crises would be resolved If we remove the unnecessary government regulations from the work place the cost of American made goods will be competitive with those from outside the U.S. A dramatic cut or even elimination of payroll taxes would boost employment to the point that even those unneeded government workers would easily find truly productive jobs.

Just imagine a nation where workers get to keep all the money they earn and are allowed to spend it as they wish. Imagine a nation where workers never have to worry about filing income tax returns on
April 15. Imagine a nation where everyone who wants to work can easily find jobs, and those who don’t want to work will have to find a way to take care of themselves. Imagine a nation were anyone who wants to start a home based business can do so without having to fill out tons of tax forms and permit requests.

How do we achieve this? First, we should insist that our governments strictly obey the limits set by the Constitution as written, not as some judge thinks it should have said. We should eliminate all payroll taxes and apply a consumer tax at the wholesale level. That would force imported goods to pay the same taxes as the things we build here at home. We should dramatically reduce or eliminate government welfare programs, returning the responsibility for the care of those who cannot care for themselves to family, church and community where it belongs.

With these changes, U.S. made products will be competitive with imports. People will be free to start their own family business without interference from government so that they can support and care for themselves and their families. Unemployment would virtually vanish from our economy. And government can devote their time to preserving the safety, defense and communication systems that cross state lines.

President Reagan was right when he said, “Government is not the solution, government is the problem.”

Frankly Speaking - Frank Gillispie - January 7, 2010

Every year congress is presented with numerous proposals for constitutional amendments, but only rarely does one see the light of day. Most are greeted with the statement “Congress will never allow that to happen.” But there is another way to amend the Constitution other than action by Congress.

Here is a partial list of recent suggestions for Constitutional amendments

To ensure reproductive rights of women

To force the Congress and President to agree to a balanced budget, with overspending allowed only in the case of a three-fifths vote of Congress

To ensure that all children who are citizens have a right to a “free and adequate education”

To specifically permit prayer at school meetings and ceremonies

To allow non-natural born citizens to become President if they have been a citizen for 20 years

To specifically allow Congress to regulate the amount of personal funds a candidate to public office can expend in a campaign

To ensure that apportionment of Representatives be set by counting only citizens

To make the filibuster in the Senate a part of the Constitution

To provide for continuity of government in case of a catastrophic event

The “Every Vote Counts” Amendment - providing for direct election of the President and Vice President, abolishing the Electoral College

To clarify eminent domain, specifically that no takings can be transferred to a private person except for transportation projects

Providing a right to work, for equal pay for equal work, the right to organize, and the right to favorable work conditions

To allow the President to reduce any Congressional appropriation, or to disapprove of same (akin to a line-item veto)

The critics are right. None of these suggestions have any chance of receiving two thirds votes in either house.

But the citizens of the United States, acting through their state governments, can bypass Congress if two thirds of the state legislators vote to call convention to consider changes in the Constitution. Once such a convention meets and adapts changes, then three forth of the states must ratify their actions in order to make their decisions stick. You will find this in Article V of the Constitution.

There is a major problem with this method of amending the Constitution. Once a constitution convention has been seated, there is no limit on what they can do. They can recommend to the states any number of amendments on all subjects. Or, they can scrap the present constitution and write a totally new one.. If the states agree, this new plan of government would become law.

Such an action is likely only if the citizens of this nation feel that their Constitution has been damaged beyond repair. There are many who feel this has already happened. Several states are exploring legal action to have much of the current legislation declared unconstitutional. If they fail in this effort, and enough of our citizens acting through their state governments demand constitutional changes, it is possible they would be successful. In that event, there would be a real chance that dangerous new constitutional provisions might be added and that could cause much more harm than good.

It would be a case of “be careful what you ask for - you might get it!

# Posted by Allen Hardage on December 27, 2009 at 11:39pm on http://strike120.ning.com

America has been under attack by radicals for over sixty years but suddenly it seems that the attacks are coming in a tsunami of socialism. When Margaret Sanger started her organization Planned Parenthood back in 1940 after praising the tactics of the Nazi party in Germany to eugenically control the population of undesired people groups, there were relatively few radical organizations in the country. Today Planned Parenthood is actually one of the more tame organizations operating here to destroy the Christian values and conservative principles that most Americans hold as their own values.

It seems impossible to link those groups like People for the American Way, GLSEN, Human Rights Campaign, SEIU, Tides Foundation etc to each other but the reality is that they are all funded by less than 120 prominent wealthy Americans and foreigners like George Soros. If the conservative movement in America wants to defeat these organizations’ plans to dismantle our way of life in America, we must unite to stop the funding of these radical socialist groups.

David Horowitz has done a stellar job at his website www.discoverthenetwork.org of profiling these organizations, there leadership and their financial contributors. Horowitz has compiled one of the most comprehensive profile sites on the net of who these people are and how they are interlinked. Another great site is www.muckety.com where you can actually see a web of connecting points between the groups and individuals.

The TEA Party movement’s best strategy to take this nation back is a three pronged approach: 1. Research who is funding these groups and through the groups the liberals in the government. 2. We must call them out on it by exposing them and publicly shaming them and their companies. Many of the top funders for the radical People for the American Way, a quasi-communist group that spews hatred toward anyone who is conservative, are the top stars and producers in Hollywood. 3. We must stop providing the financiers with our money for them to turn around and use it against us. You are free to call that a boycott if you would like but as I responded to blogger on HOTAIR’s Greenroom last week, I call it not providing my hard earned dollars to my philosophical enemies who then demand more of my money through taxes.

Over the last few years the liberal intelligencia has used a group called Democracy Alliance to fund campaigns and organizations throughout the country. Last week radio host Joel Aaron filling in on the Martha Zollar show highlighted this group and the high jacking of the Colorado elections of 2006 and 2008. They were able to take a state from a 63% Republican state in 2006 to a 68% Democratic state in 2008. They set up thug teams to discredit conservatives, work with groups like ACORN and SEIU to do voter intimidation and vote registering of homeless and illegals, you get the idea. The members of this group have to commit to contributing over $300,000 a year to organizations and candidates the Alliance selects.

The National Day of Strike on January 20, 2010 will be the first dismantling this socialist politeriate. We will begin researching and listing these organizations tomorrow and by the 20th we will have a complete list that gets released to all of the group so that we can launch a massive one day email, letter drop, phone calls to the companies and organizations that are funding the radical socialist agenda being forced through Congress. This is a strike of action at our enemies not a strike from our jobs. Together we can stop the radical takeover of our nation. We will post here the radical beliefs and associations of these groups. We will also be issuing press releases to expose these groups to the public.

With the dawning of a new decade, the American People need to reflect on our past greatness, and the restoration of that greatness in the future.

The political systems in Washington, the States, and our local governments, are infiltrated with those who would deny the people our country’s greatness, and its Beacon of Liberty which has shone throughout the world since America’s founding.

Our country’s forefathers labored extensively to provide the people a government which would not be under the thumb of a central bureaucracy. Yet, since the turn of the 20th century, the elements of socialism, progressivism and Marxism have worked to undermine our own liberties and freedom, while having us concentrate on being the policeman, and caretaker of the world.

Our country has been stolen from us!

The People are no longer in control of the government. Special interest lobbyists pad the pockets of hired gun politicians who were placed there by the dollars generated from purchases by the American people. You buy goods, the company finds their ” Golden Boy” politician or party, and then fund them into a seat in our “republican” government.

These same politicians, once in the seat of power, lay out, propose, and vote in the agendas being paid for by their special interest financiers. The American people, who this so called “statesman” is supposed to represent, is ignored, even though its crys are heard loudly and visually, even unto the steps of the Capital in Washington DC.

It is given to us the right, the duty, to call to account those who would bind us in the chains of tyranny. We are to work to identify the individuals, special interests, and lobbyists who are pushing us to be subjugated under the power of an ever increasing central government.

Our call to action is to unite with those who would fight for the cause of Liberty and Freedom. Align ourselves with people working to identify and remove the sickness which has corrupted our political system.

Let us identify and support statesmen who will represent the People, and restore honor to the office of those who would walk away from their everyday life with their family and friends, and would raise their right hand and swear an oath to uphold the U. S. Constitution.

Let us get representatives that actually work to fulfill their oath.

For Freedom and Liberty.

Ray McBerry, candidate for Governor of Georgia, is introducing 8 bills, which will strengthen Georgia in invoking it’s 10th Amendment rights. He is running States Rights as a main focus of his campaign. If you have not heard of him, you may get more information by going to his website: http://www.georgiafirst.org

One proposed legislation, would keep Georgia taxpayers from funding unconstitutional laws. If it does not fall under the Enumerated Powers granted to Congress, under Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution, the power belongs to the People, 9th Amendment, or the States, 10th Amendment.
Review the bill which will hold taxpayer funds in Georgia, if the money would be used to fund an unconstitutional program by the Federal Government. http://ga10th.ning.com/profiles/blogs/state-authority-and-federal

On the point of nullification, the Tenth Amendment Center has many articles pertaining to the topic, and recent examples of states who are looking to utilize the measure for many issues, including gun laws, as in Tennessee and Montana, and other issues for other states. Further information may be obtained at http://www.tenthamendmentcenter.com

Lastly, I have been running a Georgia 10th Amendment group on Meetup. The link for the group is http://www.meetup.com/The-Georgia-10th-Amendment-Meetup-Group/ but I am currently migrating it to the following web location: http://ga10th.ning.com/

Please feel free to join us if you feel compelled to work in the cause of Georgia’s 10th Amendment Rights. Invitation link to join: http://ga10th.ning.com/?xgi=3CsUXgQWOabM3J
