Georgia First is a network of like-minded Georgians who believe in limited local government, and believe that the people should own their government rather than be owned by their government.
In order to re-institute a Jeffersonian Republic, our people must be trained in self-government beyond attending rallies and flooding fax machines.
Ray McBerry is the only candidate in the current Governor’s race in Georgia who understands and is willing to practice the act of “interposition” as governor in defense of the people’s liberties against an out-of-control federal government. Ray, working with legislators and other leaders, has also put together a legislative agenda in order to lawfully and peacefully realign our local civil government into Constitutional conformity, such that the federal government is servant to our state governments and our state government is servant to our people.
Our growing volunteer network across the state is designed to transfer empowering information to each and every Georgian intent on restoring our liberties here at home. Under the direction and leadership of Governor McBerry, we must have a populace ready to roll up their sleeves and engage, pressuring the House and Senate to act in unison with the Governor, in asserting our sovereignty over federal usurpation, tyranny, and regulation.
We are way beyond motivating the masses to go to the voter booth each election cycle, or promoting a commercialization of the liberty movement. We firmly believe that Georgians are best equipped to care for themselves and their families, and to create private sector solutions for the problems and wasteful spending that big government has created. Unfortunately, our party system has given us leaders who quibble over the size, scope and control of big government rather than the illegitimacy of big government. Why would we look to Washington to solve our problems, when they’ve created a monstrosity of wasteful spending, perpetual war, and overbearing bureaucracy?
It is time to kick out career politicians looking for a promotion. It is time for us to take the challenge of stepping into local elected positions. It is time for campaigns to be won because of grassroots enthusiasm and genuine support, rather than money war chests filled by special interest groups and powerful PACs, or a media-promoted “electability” based upon an illusion of popularity rather than concrete integrity and principle.
If you are ready to own your government, if you are ready to take on the challenges of self-government, if you are ready to no longer be enslaved to the whims and budgets of Washington or Atlanta, Georgia First is for you.
